Patriotic Book Bag

My daughters and I love a challenge. So, back in late May we decided to take each other on in a $5 Dollar Store Challenge. We found inspiration over at Lindsay's Blog , Living With Lindsay. This is how this challenge goes. You shop your local Dollar Store spending no more than $5 on supplies. Then you put your purchases together, in a different way and make something brand new. You CAN use SOME supplies that you have on hand at your house already to complete it. For our challenge, we decided to put in that it would have to be something patriotic, red, white and blue, or something using 4 th of July type supplies, knowing that the completion date would be right around the first of July. I walked in the door of the store about a month ago and found some really nice, thick placemats like these. The ones I picked up were red and white stripes with a blue star pattern. I was already thinking a purse of some kind so I knew I would need about 3; one for each side and one to cut up for t...

Morgaine's Wheel

Summer Solstice began this year on June 21 at 7:28 EDT in the morning. Sol + stice derives from a combination of Latin words meaning "sun" + "to stand still." It is the longest day and shortest night of the year. The sun will gradually begin making it's way down to its southernmost point resulting in the second Solstice, the Winter Solstice, which will be the shortest day and longest night of the year. On Etsy, I found Helene, Intuitive Goddess , and had her do a reading for me using a layout called Morgaine's Wheel. She asked for my name and birthdate and that is all. My friends, THIS GIRL IS GIFTED! First, I received a lovely PDF with a photograph of the entire layout. Then each card is identified and she writes about its meaning and how she intuitively feels about it. She also begins each reading with a meditation and automatic writing giving the re...

And Our Family Grows Some More

Spring moves into Summer and with the change, the beginnings of brand new life. So it is in our family. In May, we were told there would be two new little ones joining our ever growing family. Melody , Mike and their son, Anthony, will welcome a little girl in November, and our Son and Daughter-In-Law, Kristen, will be having their baby shortly after the New Year.... so shortly in fact that the baby may be a New Year's Baby! It's too early to know what she is having but we will be making the trip to My First Peekaboo in Santa Barbara around the middle of July to find out. If you live anywhere within driving distance to Santa Barbara, I HIGHLY recommend you make an appointment with Anna for the 3D and 4D Ultrasounds! The price is right and she offers money saving packages for every budget. Exciting times! {Kristen & Wes' New Baby} {Melody & Mike's New Baby Girl} On a slightly different note, I'd like to do a quick update on all the recreating we've been ...
