"Te Amo"

When Kristen & Wes were preparing for their wedding, they asked me to make earrings for the Bridesmaids. They were relatively simple, two eggplant colored pearls separated with a little Swarovski Crystal band on a wire wrapped head pin. It had probably been two years since I made ANY jewelry at all, so I promised I'd try. Well, it was like riding a bicycle, you don't forget how....and they turned out really cute. It gave me the bug to make something else. so, while my husband was out of town, I decided to make a bracelet with matching earrings. First, I went to Michael's to get just a few new beads. Hey! I used a coupon AND the beads were on sale. The first set was a large lentil shaped green and brown bead, and the second was a larger rondel brown bead that almost looked like wood. My completed bead tray contained these two new beads plus some small green Swarovski crystals, round jade beads, various silver bead caps and beads, heart charms and a heart and arrow toggl...

Wes & Kristen Marry.........Again

Catchy title huh? Their first wedding, in the local courthouse, was May 8, 2008. They were getting ready to move to Tracy, CA where my son had just taken a new job. Even though it was "just a courthouse", it was really a nice ceremony. My husband was missing from this ceremony. He was visiting with his Mom in Arkansas, a trip we had planned for many months for this date. We walked down to the San Luis Obispo Mission and took some pictures to memorialize the day. Weston & Kristen - May 8, 2008 Tim & Nancy Martin, Kristen & Wes Weems and Me They were thrown a lovely surprise Bridal Shower Luncheon by Kristen's co-workers. Even provided a crown and veil to commemorate the day. And a WONDERFUL cake that was "to die" for. When they moved back to our area in January of 2009, they chose a date and began planning for another wedding. After months of planning, buying, and coordinating the BIG day finally arrived. It was truly a beautiful wedding! Because th...

"Has Anyone Seen That Pesky Cat?"

This is little Wilhelm, my grand-dog. He's pretty funny. Last night he heard cats in the hallway and went in search of them. He hunted high.....he hunted low, but those pussycats just couldn't be found. Where on earth is that pesky cat??

Anthony yapping away

Anthony is 4 months old now and quite the little talker. He weighs over 16 lbs and the developmental specialist says he is doing things a 7 months old baby would do. A little genius?? Well we think so anyway. Happy Watching....

Happy Birthday Mom!

This is my beautiful mom. I'm guessing she was in her late twenties or early thirties. Can you imagine going out to some rustic place like this, Yosemite I think, and wearing a dress, silk stockings and a matching purse? Wow! Today is my mom's birthday. She'd be 86 today if she was alive. She passed away in 2001, a week after she turned 78. It was a VERY sad day for me. So for a tribute today, I'm going to tell all of you a little about her. She was born September 22, 1923 in North Dakota and named Donna Geraldine Schonberger. I can tell you, she always hated the name Geraldine and most of the time would only use the abbreviation G. She was the oldest girl, 3rd child of 6. Her father, George Schonberger was a farmer and her mother, Alice Viola Baker Schonberger, had been a schoolteacher. There were 6 children in her family. In order: Kent George Schonberger, Claude Schonberger, Donna Geraldine Schonberger Geske, Darlene Schonberger Moody, Fern Schonberger Crane an...
